Frameless
Large glass areas and minimal visible framing create an open look. The opening, support, door movement, and surrounding surfaces still determine what works.
Semi-frameless
Selected framing or channels add support while keeping broad glass areas visible. It can be a practical middle ground for some layouts.
Framed
More visible framing surrounds and supports the enclosure. Available configurations depend on the opening and current product options.
Choose from the actual space
Share bathroom photos, approximate dimensions, and notes about the existing enclosure. Ocean Glass can explain the next measuring and planning step.
Separate the framing choice from the door movement
Frameless, semi-frameless and framed describe the enclosure’s visible framing. Sliding, hinged and pivot describe how a door moves. Choosing a look does not by itself settle how the door should open. Review both with the actual bathroom in view.
For a swinging door, show the fixtures and available clearance outside the shower. For a sliding layout, show the complete opening and the area where the panels will move. The shop can explain which arrangements fit the project.
Compare complete configurations, not just names
Ask what glass panels, framing, hardware and installation arrangements are included in each option. A comparison is more useful when both proposals describe the same opening and the same intended use.
- Where will framing, channels or supports be visible?
- Which panels stay fixed and which move?
- How will the door work around nearby fixtures?
- What measurements and site information are still needed?
What to send before discussing the design
Start with one photo showing the whole bathroom opening and another showing any existing enclosure. Include approximate dimensions, your project town and what you would like to change. These details help the first conversation; final glass planning requires accurate information about the actual opening.
You can call before choosing a style. Ocean Glass can review the space and explain the next planning step. Explore shower doors and enclosures to compare the available service paths.
